BBM Academy raises funds to fight cancer
Through student-led lemonade stands, Charleston’s Big Blue Marble Academy (BBMA) students have raised $1,195 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation to support the organization’s research and programs for children fighting cancer.
The young learners at BBMA lead each aspect of the community service project, from promotion and preparation to making and pouring lemonade. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is just one of BBMA’s service learning initiatives, called Heart Projects, teaching students collaboration and responsibility, as well as how their efforts can have an impact on their community.
