All you need to know about the new Child Care Tax Credit!

As of January 1, 2026 the federal employer tax credit (Section 45F) significantly increased.

  • Maximum amount increased from $150,000 to $500,000
  • Maximum increased to $600,000 for employers that are eligible small businesses.

Three Ways to Qualify:

  1. Provide an on-site child care facility by acquiring, building, renovating, or expanding a property dedicated to child care for employees.
  2. Contract with a licensed child care provider to provide child care for employees.
  3. Offer child care resources and referral services to help employees find child care options.

To claim this credit, fill out Form 8882 when filing your federal taxes.
