Passport to Learning
Your Child’s Educational Journey
Begins with a Strong Curriculum
Children are born with a natural curiosity to explore and understand their world. At Big Blue Marble Academy, we’re dedicated to nurturing that curiosity by creating learning spaces that invite children to explore, discover, and make sense of the world around them. From our caring, highly trained staff to our research-based Passport to Learning™ curriculum and thoughtfully designed classrooms, we create environments where your child can truly thrive.
Our approach supports your child across eight learning domains, helping them build confidence, curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. And at the heart of their journey are two signature programs that extend and enrich their time with us: Passport to Community™ and Passport to Language™. Together, they help your child develop their academic skills, empathy, responsibility, and a sense of global citizenship, while strengthening the communication skills that prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.
The Building Blocks of Passport to Learning
Our eight learning domains address every aspect of your child’s development, touching on everything from math and science to art and healthy habits. Through intentional teaching and hands-on exploration, Passport to Learning ensures they will have the skills they need at every level. But the true magic of our curriculum lies in how learning evolves as your child does. As your child progresses through our programs, our curriculum intentionally builds skills within and across each domain, deepening their understanding year after year.

Learning to read starts long before kindergarten! Early skills like holding a crayon, enjoying stories, recognizing letters, and knowing words make a huge difference in how well your child will read down the road. In our print-rich environment, your child’s vocabulary and language skills grow through songs and rhymes, storytelling, meaningful conversation, and plenty of questions.
Math is everywhere, and your child is already doing it! When counting rocks, sorting toys by color, or figuring out which block is bigger, your child is building the math skills that will set them up for success. Your child will learn to recognize shapes and patterns, strengthening early thinking skills. It’s not just about kindergarten readiness; we’re giving your child the building blocks they need to excel in science, technology, and problem-solving throughout their life.
Your child is a natural explorer, full of questions and wonder. Our curriculum provides the right foundation to enable your child to develop the curiosity and reasoning skills that support STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) thinking. Whether they’re using their senses to explore new materials or discuss changes they see in nature, your child learns to observe, ask questions, and make predictions about the world around them.
Learning how to be a good friend is just as important as learning the alphabet. In our classrooms, your child will discover how to share, cooperate, express their feelings, and navigate relationships by participating in group activities, offering comfort to others, and working through challenges as they try new things. These early social-emotional skills build confidence, develop empathy, and teach your child to handle challenges with resilience.
Your child may be small, but their world gets bigger every day. As they learn about their family, neighborhood, and the wider world, they begin to understand where they belong and how they can make a difference. By learning about community helpers, exploring how people live in different places, and sharing their own family traditions and experiences, your child discovers they’re part of something bigger and grows into a caring, engaged member of their community.
Growing bodies are busy bodies! Whether they’re climbing, running, drawing, or learning to zip up a jacket, your child is building important physical skills every day. Strong muscles and coordination don’t just support active play; they help your child gain independence, confidence, and the fine motor skills and gross motor control they’ll need for school and life. We also emphasize learning healthy habits that will last a lifetime, like safe practices, smart choices, balanced eating, and handwashing.
When we give your child a paintbrush, introduce them to a new song, or involve them in a make-believe story, amazing things happen. Imaginative play gives your child a powerful way to express themselves, explore new ideas, and build confidence in their own unique voice. Our lessons and activities in art, music, movement, pretend play, and storytelling provide your child opportunities to think flexibly, communicate feelings, and approach challenges with imagination and curiosity.
Every wobble, hurdle, and retry builds something powerful in your child. Through these everyday moments, your child develops the habits that support lifelong learning, persistence, focus, independence, creativity, and the willingness to try again when things don’t go as planned. Whether remembering where toys are stored as a toddler or planning and collaborating in play as a preschooler, these are the skills that turn questions into discoveries and challenges into opportunities to grow.
